The world of the paint chemistry industry has always been characterised by a confusing multitude of products and terminologies that are often unclear and incomprehensible, and by an excessive number of different products and different manufacturers.

It must be said, however, is that it is sometimes rather difficult to present a paint or coating product in an understandable manner, as is the case with medicines, due the many differences as regards chemical composition, fields of application, performance, limitations, application methods, drying methods, environmental safety, level of toxicity, etc. However, it must also be pointed out that, even today, there are still certain types of paint and coating formulations in circulation, which are obsolete and have been replaced by newer technologies.

In terms of its relationship with its customers, Univer Sokema aims to replace the traditional and obtuse “chemicalese” language with one that is clearer and made up of terms relating to performance and limitations. For this very reason, the Company has made an attempt to summarise its products into 8 application categories, namely Automotive & Industrial, Design & Wood, Electronic & Aeronautical, Flooring & Building, High Temperature, Sanitary & Military, Yachting and Ships, and Water systems.
